Sharp State

Terms of Service

Last updated: October 8, 2026

These terms govern your use of Sharp State: the website at sharpstate.app and the Sharp State Chrome extension (together, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

1. Who we are

2. The service

Sharp State is a productivity tool: a pomodoro timer with statistics, and a Chrome extension that can block distracting websites during your focus sessions and, on Premium, show where your browsing time goes.

We may change the service for valid reasons, such as improving it, keeping it secure or complying with the law, at no extra cost to you. If a change significantly reduces what Premium gives you, we will tell you in advance and you can end your subscription and get a refund for the period you have not used.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us straight away if you suspect someone else is using it.
  • An account is for one person and may not be shared or resold.

4. Free plan and Premium

The free plan is free of charge and has usage limits, which are shown in the app and may change. Premium removes those limits and adds features such as navigation tracking.

5. Buying Premium

  • Premium subscriptions are sold to you by Stripe, our reseller and merchant of record. When you buy, your purchase contract is with Stripe and Stripe's terms of sale, shown at checkout, apply to it. We provide the service you get access to.
  • The price, including any applicable taxes, is shown before you pay.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year, depending on the plan you choose, until you cancel. You will receive an email reminder at least 15 days before each renewal.
  • You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again.
  • Questions about payments, invoices or refunds are handled by Stripe; you can also write to us and we will help.
  • Stripe may cancel a subscription it is legally unable to continue, for example when it cannot complete the checks the law requires of sellers.

6. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a Premium purchase within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. If you asked for Premium to start straight away, you may be charged for the days you used before withdrawing. Because Stripe is the seller, withdrawal and refund requests are handled under Stripe's terms of sale. Write to us at privacy@sharpstate.app and we will help you with the request.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for anything illegal;
  • try to get around plan limits, access other people's data, or gain unauthorised access to our systems;
  • interfere with the service, overload it, or access it with automated tools other than the official extension;
  • copy, resell or redistribute the service.

8. Intellectual property

The service, including its software, design and the Sharp State name and logo, belongs to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it under these terms. Your data remains yours.

9. Availability

We work to keep the service available and correct, but it is provided as it is and may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance or because of problems beyond our control. Website blocking is a focus aid you control, not a security or parental-control tool, and it does not work outside Chrome or when the extension is disabled.

10. Liability

If you use the service as a consumer, we are responsible for damage caused by our failure to meet these terms, as the law provides. If you use it for business purposes, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or the rights you have as a consumer.

11. Ending the service

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, telling you why unless the law prevents us. If we ever shut the service down, we will give reasonable notice.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell you about significant changes in advance in the app or by email. If you do not agree, you can cancel and stop using the service before they take effect.

13. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim in its courts.
